L2D thanks lucky heavens for kugels and African tourists

Sandton City defies talk of a downtrend in shopping centres, much to the delight of Liberty Two Degrees

Liberty Two Degrees says premium asset Sandton City, of which it owns a quarter, is outperforming other super-regional malls which are losing tenants monthly.

Management said the strong performance by the iconic shopping centre had ensured it maintained its dividend payout. The company, also known as L2D, nevertheless still reported a 17% fall in profit in its year to end-December.
