Investors ponder move to simplify the company’s structure by shifting gold assets into their own division

Sibanye-Stillwater (https://www.sharenet.co.za/v3/quickshare.php?scode=SGL) triggered a wave of speculation when it announced it would simplify the structure of its holdings,  moving its gold assets into their own division.

While the move to separate the assets has been a year in the making, some analysts immediately saw it as the precursor to Sibanye ditching its gold mines.
