Sasol: Shareholders are right to be cracking their knuckles

The share price has more than halved over the past year, and investors want bosses to share the pain

Much bad news has come out of Sasol’s Lake Charles Chemicals Project over the past year and the time is nigh for some accountability. 

The project has faced delays and enormous cost overruns and this week the group announced the project’s earnings target for the year would be substantially lower. 

Sasol has assured investors that the joint presidents and CEOs are jointly and severally liable and accountable. But exactly how accountable will likely only be revealed on September 19 when the group’s annual results are released...
