Finally, some moving and shaking in listed property

Investors have been clamouring for more mergers and acquisitions, and now they’re starting to get them

The consolidation in the R590bn listed property sector that investors have been clamouring for is starting to happen, after a year and a half of weak growth.

On Tuesday, diversified property owner SA Corporate Real Estate said it had received “expressions of interest” from funds that want to take it over. The announcement was well-received with the company’s share price climbing 5%.
